I am a social anthropologist and a tenured researcher at the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) since 2016. I received a doctoral degree from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, Paris, in 2005. Between 2006 and 2012, I was Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology, Halle. In 2012 and 2013, I taught at the Martin Luther University, Halle-Wittenberg.
My research interests are in the area of the study of religion (Orthodox Christianity in Russia and Bulgaria, Islam in Bulgaria) and economic transformation; inequality and processes of marginalisation; women and gender; entwinements of domestic, local and religious economies with the global economy; religion and religious diversity in the workplace. I am strongly committed to conducting ethnographic fieldwork. I have worked in Estonia, Russia and Bulgaria.
